About twenty years ago, my mother and I were exploring the contents of a cedar chest that belonged to my great-aunt.  We found a beautiful  hand quilted bed-sized quilt.  I became enthralled at the beauty and quality of the workmanship.  I decided at that time to become a quilter.  The quilt that I started then was finished in 2005.

I attended a quilt exhibit at the Bible Society in New York.  I became inspired again and decided to resume quilting.  I knew at this point that I could not go it alone.  I needed to find a continued source of inspiration and guidance.  I was introduced to the Quilters of Color Network of New York.

I recently completed my first quilt.  As a relatively new quilter, I have yet to define my niche in the world of quilting.  I will attempt to integrate my love of music, reading, Afrocentric themes and colors into my work.  I am a work in progress and with the inspiration and help of friends at QCNNY I’ll reach my goals.
